an interview + there will be blood

Blake Butler interviewed me for Word Riot, Jackie Corley's online literary magazine. I dream cast an imaginary Fires movie and talk about a lot of other things.

I love Paul Thomas Anderson. Boogie Nights and Magnolia are movies that never cease to please me. Here is the strange, wonderful trailer for his newest, There Will Be Blood, starring Daniel Day-Lewis.

i was just talking about 'there will be blood' last night. i pray it comes out soon. we need something to fix this movie drought. i seriously can't remember the last time i felt my $9 was worth it. thanks for posting that trailer, and for the great interview.

Dang it, can't get any sound on the trailer in the NSGY office. I'm supposed to be admitting some lady down the hall who has an aneurysm, but instead I'm fiddling with these cheap-ass industrial-purpose Dell speakers.

But in any case, Daniel Day-Lewis is the best actor in the past quarter-century.

And in other news, I recently treated another guy you'd probably be interested in. Had his head smashed between a wall and an 8000lb (yes, four ton) metal pipe. The pipe won. But he's still alive.

i want to see that movie

Ian, that sounds memorable. What happened to that guy who got shot in the head while on PCP and lived?

Tao, I want to see that movie, too. All those people should get together and make it.
