Just watched Chloe, which came out earlier this year. Ridiculous/delicious/awesome psychosexual thriller. Sex scene between Amanda Seyfried & Julianne Moore considerably more explicit than Black Swan scene between the two leads. Good twist. Lame death at the very end (another thing it had in common with Black Swan). Also watched something called Shuttle, which was terrible. By far the best movie I've seen over the holidays was Calvaire, with True Grit running somewhere behind it.
I'm fascinated by the idea that feature films can now be made using DSLR cameras. A Canon 5D Mark II costs only $2,500. That Jamie Stuart short film "Idiot With A Tripod" was shot on something similar (but cheaper) and looks gorgeous. Here's a 5D Mark II image quality sample.
